getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small
manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one."

My Friend and fellow Wizard Partner Tim Miles posted this on his
Facebook page:
Tim
Miles:
For more than five years, I've told my son I loved him
when I put him to bed. Tonight, for the first time, he said, "I love
you, too." And that's all I really have to say about that.

I like Facebook. I didn't want to do it. But
reluctantly, after so many people I knew were on it, and it had hit
critical mass, I figured I might as well. Turns out, I enjoy it very
much, and it has some very good aspects that are very good for my
business. But as of late I was having some frustration with
Facebook.
I'm having issues with Facebook. I was getting the posts of people that
I didn't really know that well; you know...a friend of a friend. I was
NOT getting the postings of some close friends and even my wife. She
had some friends that were also my friends, (I mean real true friends,
in real life) and I wanted to get their posts. I typed in their names
and added them as a friend. I still did not get their posts. So in
desperation and frustration I swallowed my pride and displayed my
ignorance about Facebook technology with the following message on my
wall:
Clay Campbell:
OK I am of at least average
intelligence I think, and I can't this figure out. Why do I not get
post's people of I am friends with on FB?? Why is that? I know how to
delete a person's posts; but how does one GET someone's post?
I received these posts from other frustrated Facebook Friends
Louise Anne
McLean: I'd like to know too!...I get them on my blackberry but
not always of FB page - help me too please!
Amy Benson Cathey: I have the same problem!
Kay English: I have the same problem.
Margaret
Maggie Johnson Penn: I get a few, but not all
So... I surmised that I was not alone; and that many others were
frustrated by this same problem.
Just a few minutes later, my sweet Niece Alicia sent me this:
Alicia Johnson: When you're on your Home page,
look in the upper left hand corner there's a list of things you can
select from...make sure you've selected Status updates and are not on
News Feed.
Also, make sure you haven't changed your settings to stop other peoples
posts from showing up on your page. Lastly, remember that some people,
although I doubt Aunt Barbie would, could have their privacy settings
to stop their wall comments from being viewed by certain people.
I hope that helps Uncle Clay!!!
Well that helped, and I did all that. Then I received another comment
from a very nice helpful person named Chasity; one of my Facebook
friends. This is her post to me exactly as she sent it; unedited:
"Chasity sent you a message about this too.
Subject: this is a little better explination
on the left of your wall click on news feed, then at the top of your
wall click live feed. scroll to the bottom and click edit options (in
blue) a box will pop open. This is the info you are looking for:
Number of Friends
Control how many friends you want shown in Live Feed.
A higher number means you will see new posts more frequently.
Maximum number of friends shown in Live Feed
(mine is set on 500)
View Recommended Friends
*this one is the key. If a friend isn't highlighted in blue, you dont
get them on your wall very often-or maybe not at all. hi-light the
ones you are missing and hit save.
i bet barbie isn't hi-lighted.
OH Yeah, everytime you add a friend, you have to go do this....You'll
see them on your wall for a few days and then they'll disapper.
hope it helps
chas"
I went immediately and did as Chasity suggested and it worked! Then I
went in and showed my wife how to do it as well.
For those of you that do not have Facebook and talk to your Facebook
"friends"... you should do it.
For those of you that do have Facebook and you want to get the posts
from your "Facebook friends"
Just follow the instructions of my Facebook friends Alicia and
Chasity
